Everything You Need to Know About Your Toddler’s Teeth

-
Use the right toothbrush. Look for a toothbrush with soft bristles that is the right size for your child's mouth. A good rule of thumb is to choose a toothbrush that is small enough to fit comfortably in your child's mouth without touching their gums.
-
Use the right toothpaste. Choose a fluoride toothpaste that is designed for children and use only a pea-sized amount.
-
Brush twice a day. The best times to brush your child's teeth are after breakfast and before bedtime.
-
Be gentle. Gently brush your child's teeth in a circular motion using short, gentle strokes.
-
Spit, don't swallow. When your child is done brushing, have them spit the toothpaste out into the sink. Swallowing too much fluoride can be harmful.
-
Floss daily. Use a piece of floss that is about the length of your fingertips to your elbow, and wrap it around your middle fingers. Gently insert the floss between your child's teeth and use a gentle back-and-forth motion to remove any plaque or food particles. Doing so from a young age will also make it easier for them to continue the habit themselves as they grow.

Visit us regularly. Your child should see us every six months for a checkup and clean. We can't wait to see you and your little one soon!
